What you will test

OpenSMS lets teams send SMS through one REST API using their own Android phones and SIMs as SMS gateways. The goal is to reduce dependency on expensive SMS aggregators, avoid per-message API markup, and give businesses more visibility and control over their SMS stack.

Testing goals
We’ll be testing gateway reliability, message delivery flow, dashboard experience, API usability, onboarding process, and abuse-prevention safeguards.

We want also to test real-world use cases such as:

OTP verification
Payment or order notifications
Customer alerts
Internal announcements

Tester requirements

We’re prioritizing testers who have a real business, organization, school, startup, NGO, or development project that can use SMS responsibly.

Beta testers should be willing to:

Share their intended SMS use case
Complete basic business or use-case verification
Follow our acceptable use policy
Provide honest feedback during testing
Report bugs, issues, or confusing parts of the setup
