[ One-line Definition ]

A native counseling-record CRM for school guidance counselors in the Philippines, combined with automated parent reporting and crisis-management safety workflows. The same codebase can also support CRM-style use cases for Korean education agencies, language schools, or study-abroad organizations that send students to the Philippines, but the product's primary identity is a school counseling office system.

[ Core Problem ]

Student counseling records in many local schools in the Philippines are often scattered across paper files, Excel sheets, and individual notes. For guidance counselors, one of the biggest bottlenecks is organizing report content for parents while still protecting the confidentiality of each student's counseling records. In addition, when a student at risk is identified — such as suicide risk, abuse, or bullying — there is often no suitable tool to systematically record the reporting and referral process.

[ Product DNA ] — Records Built Around Who's Reading Them

Counseling records aren't kept as a single note. Each entry is separated by who's meant to read it — what the parent sees, what stays inside the school, and what stays private to the counselor alone. That separation is what makes it safe for a counselor to write an honest note without worrying it'll end up in front of a parent.

[ Core Features for School Counseling Offices ]

• Student Records : Manage grade level, section/class, areas of concern such as academic, personal/social, or career, assigned counselor, and guardian consent status.
• Referral Intake : A channel where homeroom teachers or other staff can refer students for counseling. The flow supports statuses such as received, under review, and closed.
• Group Counseling & Programs : Create counseling programs, manage sessions, and track attendance.
• Crisis Management : Flags for suicide risk, child abuse, and bullying, along with records for referral to the Child Protection Committee, or CPC. This is designed as a “flag + reporting procedure” workflow aligned with the intent of DepEd Child Protection Policy, DO 40, s.2012, and the Anti-Bullying Act, RA 10627. It does not include standardized psychological testing, since that area may fall under different professional boundaries between licensed guidance counselors and licensed psychologists. Naru maintains its position as a records and administrative workflow tool.
• Parent Communication : AI draft → counselor review → delivery. Parents can view reports through a link without creating an account.
• Counselor Confidentiality : Counselors can only view records of students assigned to them, reflecting the confidentiality practices of school counseling. However, crisis-management records are treated as an exception and can be viewed across the organization. When student safety is involved, appropriate information sharing takes priority over strict confidentiality.

[ Parallel Support ]

The same codebase also supports an agency-type organization model for study-abroad agencies. This includes lead-to-case conversion, language school matching, visa/document management, and parent reporting. The two organization types branch during onboarding, and the screens and terminology are adjusted accordingly.

[ Current Status ]

The core school-counseling feature set is complete — student records, referral intake, group counseling and programs, crisis management, and statistics — along with multilingual support for five languages, parent document uploads, PIN lock, and encrypted data export. The product is currently in free beta. Payments, native mobile apps, NEIS integration, and standardized psychological testing are explicitly out of scope.
