Receipt8

Receipt8 is an open-source, visual receipt-design tool built to take the repetitive, error-prone parts of thermal-printer development out of a developer's hands. Instead of hand-writing ESC/POS alignment math from scratch for every project, Receipt8 lets you lay a receipt out visually, text, columns, QR codes, barcodes, dividers, cuts and get back ready-to-run printing code in the language your stack already uses.

Powered by a single shared receipt model, Receipt8 drives a live paper preview and a set of language generators from the exact same data, so what you see on screen is guaranteed to match what prints. It currently ships generators for Python (python-escpos), Node.js (node-thermal-printer), PHP (mike42/escpos-php), C#, and raw ESC/POS bytes, with a drag-and-drop block editor, adjustable paper width and connection type, and JSON import/export for sharing or version-controlling a layout.

Designed to run entirely in the browser, Receipt8 keeps every receipt you design local by default, nothing is sent to a server just to preview or generate code, and your draft persists automatically on your own device. This gives developers full control over their layouts and printer credentials while working, with an optional PHP endpoint available for anyone who wants to print server-side.

As an open-source project, Receipt8 is built to grow with its community: adding a new target language is a single file, and the project welcomes contributions from anyone who prints receipts for a living and is tired of writing the same padding logic twice.
