Seatmate

Seatmate is a mobile app designed to help students stay organized and motivated in their academic work, built specifically with the realities of Filipino students in mind: unreliable internet access, limited data budgets, and the isolation of studying without support.

The current version (MVP) focuses on three core functions: quiz tracking, subject organization, and grade logging. After each entry, users receive contextual encouragement from Ella, a virtual companion who responds in natural Taglish, reflecting the way students actually communicate with each other.

The application operates entirely offline. There is no account creation, no cloud dependency, and no data collection. All user information is stored locally on the device, which addresses both the connectivity constraints many students face and growing concerns around data privacy.

Product Vision

The long-term goal is to evolve Seatmate from a tracking tool into an adaptive study companion. Planned features include:

• Interactive quizzing based on a student's own material
• Personalized study planning that breaks down topics into manageable sessions
• Behavioral nudges that respond to patterns of disengagement or procrastination

The underlying thesis is that academic underperformance is often less a function of ability and more a function of environment: students study alone, without structure or accountability. Seatmate is designed to address that gap directly, by pairing every student with a companion that provides structure, consistency, and motivation over time.

Current Status

Seatmate is an early-stage MVP, developed independently without external funding. It is currently available as a direct APK download for Android, ahead of a planned Play Store release.
